life is just about over already
June 3, 2010
life is just about over already
so get a move on
you dope!
cut down before their time
the mother of too many
left to fend for themselves
handicap
bed ridden
genetically predisposed
nearly dead
nearly alive
like a dried out pen
with not much to say
anyway in
packs of 50
from the casket
store with
a bumper sticker
in their memory.
life is at best near the bottom
of the arc of a wrecking ball
and we’re primed for
our destruction
seated on a front
row towards the
parts that never
get rusty because
they’re too busy
being smashed
into hopes
into dreams
into the
unfinished sentences influenced by more original authors
who lose the same number of arms as we all do
we are all just about dead
so why don’t you live?
David Glasgow Farragut
bulging upon a navy ship screaming
damn the torpedoes, full speed ahead
having babies in war time
having babies with diseases
having the courage to get sick and die with a smile
we can only scream on this
thing and the tie-suited question
continuously asks us
after a good slapping
whether we are screaming in pain
or screaming in joy
and in the midst of
both i
can only
remember the tip of a warrior’s spear
i’ve never held in my hands
yet i saw in a picture and know
that i may not hunt
but death is
just as
real
and the courage to live
should be made just as critical.
life is just about over already.
it always has been.
and next to the
infinite
it’s over.
it’s done.
can i shake your hand?
m.
